I do not know if I have expressed how extremely packed the tubes are here in London. I mean, I'm not talking about every seat taken, I'm talking about every single square inch of the train is full. I guess I should talk in the metric system - ummmm every single bit was taken (they said bits all the time).
This morning, for example, I was pushing and shoving to get on the train. I was standing in the line/queue but NO one stands in the queue correctly - they all cut in line, so this girl cut me off... I gave her one of my 'signature' mean faces and said "Ah, excuse me!" (In that really mean sorority girl voice - I was angry anne¬!) and she gave me a pretty good look back I may add, but she still let me in the line. So just when it looks like the tube is so full no one else in the line can get on 5 more people shove themselves onto the train....so I thought why not 6?!
I stepped up onto the train and noticed if I did not squeeze in quickly I was going to have a tube door in my side so I grabbed a pole up high and used all my strength to pushed the 5 people around me into one another so I could shove myself onto the train. It was actually so full it hurt because people were pushing on me from all sides, and I was standing on other peoples feet! My purse was so close to my chest I think I'm bruised! Anyway, This girl that I shoved goes "Um, excuse me - could you please move?!" and my response....
"I am sorry, I CAAANNNOOOTTTT move" - because literally I could barely blink.
