We made it! Work starts tomorrow....

We arrived safe and sound off the flight. The only good airplane food was the danish they give you after you wake up of 5 hours of awful sleep. It was quite the trek with our 150+ pounds of luggage around the tubes stations - next time we will definitely invest in a cab at least part of the way! The place we are staying is TINY - Burr and I can barely both be in 1 room together, but there is a supermarket down the road which we attend frequently.

So,after 3 full days of walking around about 10 hours I day I think we are ready to sit at some cubes! We start tomorrow. Burr and I both went and looked at our offices - about 3 minutes apart, and a good 40 minutes from where we are staying. We are both looking forward to getting started.

Burr and I have looked at over 18 flats today alone!!! It was exhausting, some were awful, some were awesome and hopefully we will have one soon:-) We will definitely post pictures when we know more.

Our temporary living accommodations have come through! Click on the link above to see where we will be for at least 2 weeks!! We officially leave Saturday March 28th - straight flight over to London to arrive Sunday morning!

Sold the House!

Its official! The house is under contract. We still have a lots of hoops to get through before its sold but at least we got a contract!! Burr and I are so excited. Love the house, sad to see it go, but glad to know we won't have to think about it much longer (May 15 to be exact). Now we just have to sell our cars! Anyone interested 4 Runner and Honda Accord :-)

Lately I've spent a lot of time looking at different place to live on-line and I've determined most people in London do not care what the inside of their places look like, just as long as its in a good location they could live with the ugly mauve carpet and mustard yellow kitchen just fine. This will be something will have to get used to. Bring on the mauve!

Bachelor / Bachelorette

Something I am starting to be curious about is television in London. Does the ABS show "The Bachelor" air in London? I'm getting very nervous about not being able to watch the new season of the Bachelorette with Jillian in May. I wonder if I can watch it via sling box on my computer. This is definitely something I need to figure out. So, if there is no college sports or NFL - what is Burr going to watch on TV? This is certainly going to be one adventure for us. haha!

Anne's First Blog

Hello all!
Burr and I have decided to start a blog. We hope everyone will be able to be see a little bit of our lives for the 2 years we will be in England. We are SO excited about the move. The official move date is March 28, 2009! Yep, the day after Jimmy and Amanda get married we are headed over to find a place to live. We both start work on April 1, 2009. Burr will continue working for PwC in financial services and I will continue working with E&Y in international tax.

We hope as many of you as possible will make it over for a visit. Please see our calendar for our upcoming trips and visitors thus far.
