Munich

Soooo much fun!!! Yes, its too bad Kaye and I could not get outfits, but we were comfortable :-)
Ohhhh Oktoberfest!

It took me this long to remember everything – sorry for the delay. (Hehe).
Well Munich is first of all way way way prettier than I expected. We had fairly good weather * which was nice. We arrived Thursday evening and we all went to dinner. I had duck , which I have to say I am a big fan of now, it was my first**. Unfortunately, Burr and I had worked so late into the evenings leading up to the trip we couldn’t even stay out after dinner for 1 drink - yes, we’re losers.

*Side Note 1– Johnny and Kaye may not agree, but Burr and I are immune to rain – it doesn’t exist to us. So weather was good temperature for us!
**Side Note 2- Kacie and Maggie, my dear veggie friends – I’m sorry I’m writing about eating this delicious duck – I know you are cringing right now. Don’t hate carnivores! Love ya

Friday morning it was time for the festivities!!!! We met Kaye and Johnny in the morning and went straight to the fair grounds. The fair I have to say is totally Anne style – full of games, rides, and delicious treats. For some reason the group thought drinking beer (ahem – kegs of beer) was a better idea but I would have been just as happy throwing darts at water balloons and trying to knock down those bottles that never fall over* So we walked into a tent* I’m trying hard to remember the name of it....pictures at home to be added! We looked everywhere for a spot for 4 of us- finally found somewhere across the aisle and I’ve never seen Burr move so quick..... He was like the wind – whoosh he jumped over a table, behind 6 people and snagged the table - Move over people – this man needs beer at 11:15! So luckily, we scored some sweet seats. (Yes, you need seats in Oktoberfest to be served beer – strange I know).
Johnny's watch - 11:25 - time to start drinking (question - WHY? answer - because its Oktoberfest!) Picture of our tent - yes it has a painted sky just like the Venetian in Vegas!
*Side note – Do you think they are weighted?
*Side note 2 – They call them tents, but really they are large gymnasiums with fully functioning bathrooms, etc. etc.

See pictures of Johnny’s watch – starting time!

And more pictures of this very very drunken man at the same time lovely.... Burr's new BFFYes they invited inflatable dolls! Burr's fav item = pretzels!

This is my favourite way to describe leaving Oktoberfest.
Conversation 1:
Kaye – “I think we should go this way(to the right not left)”
Group – “No, its definitely this way(to the left not right)”
Later.....the group is TOTALLY wrong twice– first walked wrong way to train and then got on train going wrong way! Not only did we go the wrong way but we stayed going to the wrong way until the end where everyone got kicked off the train and we realized....ooops we need to go back the whole way plus some!!

(This is on the train can you see Kaye and Johnny? No wonder we were going the wrong way!)

Our BFF Martin - Unfort. He fell over on top of someone, making the "someone" crack their corner of the eye on the table and bleed everyone" and...they asked Martin to leave...via large escorts!)
Conversation 2
Anne - “Burr what did you get on your head?”
Burr – “I don’t know what does it look like?” – Picture taken now – see below
Anne – “Well it was just a black mark, you’re fine now”
Burr “Yippee – I see the sky”

(Note - this is at starbucks at 5pm...I'm trying to feed burr coffee....I wonder why????)

Friday night we went for the most amazing Italian meal.....
Saturday we went to Neuschwanstein to visit King Ludwig's castle...the one the real Cinderella castle was made after (Yes, I realize saying the "real Cinderella castle" is contradictory but seriously play along people, I heart Disney!)
Could it be even prettier?! Can I have one?
Saturday was Cinderella’s castle!!!! SO FUN and BEAUTIFUL. I would like to be a real life princess – let it be known....but not like King Ludwig - he seemed rather creepy especially the way he died – yikes!

All in all fabulous trip. Kaye and Johnny thanks for flying over!!!

Love you
Anne

  1. Ayden is going to be SO jealous that you two went to the real Oktoberfest (and Anne it's Oktoberfest with a "k"...I'll cut you some slack as you are probably still recovering, ha!

We went to the Oktoberfest celebration in Charlotte a few weeks ago but sounds like you had a much bigger time!!
