My new matress

I've told like 100 people about my new mattress. Its getting delivered on Monday (b/w 1 and 9pm no less) but its a UK holiday so its fine. Burr and I will take turns waiting for it! OH, and apparently a new UVA guy and his wife are moving here so they will be coming to dinner Monday night as well and will also, wait for our mattress...well I'm not going out to dinner and missing the heaven my back?!

If you have not heard us complain...consider yourself lucky...b/c most people have. Seriously we have been living with springs in our back for a year! I have no clue why we put ourselves through that, I mean really! We just thought buying a new one was ridiculous b/c we were only here 2 years, but not sleeping well b/c you are cheap ( I have found) is more ridiculous. So please pray with me that the new pillow-top mattress is as fabulous as its supposed to be! If it is...I'm never getting out of bed.

Its raining again here all week...and supposed to snow on Wednesday. REALLY?! REALLY! I mean people love London and all, but the weather is TERRIBLE. Did someone warn me about this? I feel like I did not get enough notice about this at all....its all your fault...or I did not appreciate the fabulousness of Charlotte's weather. Although I did used to say my favorite thing about NC was the weather. Now, its the fact that UNC didn't make the tournament this year, followed by the weather...haha. Sorry Roy - tear tear.

Its been EXACTLY one year today since we moved. We technically arrived the morning of the 28th though. So on the 29th last year ....Burr and I were.... (right after wishing Johnny a happy 30th)

1. Lost approx. 6 times
2. Eating 3 terrible meals (I can't tell you where or what they were but GUARANTEED terrible)
3. Getting yelled at for slamming our door in the temp housing
4. Still trying to figure out the phone and internet. (Side note - We didn't figure this one out until like day 10!)
5. Figuring out the microwave and oven were the same contraption in our mini-kitchen (temp housing)...yes...those should never be the same
6. Finding out we HATED the neighborhood "pimlico" we had chosen to reside in which was what we told the search housing agent of where we wanted to live and she had put together all these places for us to see the next day. She was thrilled when we called and told her to cancel everything and re-do it...ha...loving chelsea/knighstbridge though (thank heavens for that 7 mile walk...we were lost for most of it)
7. Figuring out we still didn't have any GBP's (Now this one we didn't figure out until day 30ish...really banking here is rough). One would think you could go into a bank with your passport/visa/contract saying you will be here for 2 years with lots of £££ and say "take it" - but oh no, oh no...not in London
8. Finally, looking at each other going "Um, we hope we did the right thing!" because we couldn't look at the TV, Internet, or phone (we didn't have any of them!) You should try it sometime...its invigorating.

OH memories...we can say a year later we are doing MUCH better, settled...enjoying life and I only get lost about once a week now....which is amazing for my average. (seriously - in cLT I got lost about twice a day ask Katie Williams....the phone calls she used to get, oh my).

YEAH FOR SETTLING IN.
praying for some sun
