Elevators are working again – wohoo!! Thank goodness. Unfortunately, we are so busy at work that I eat at my desk everyday….ugh. Obama is really keeping me busy these days. For those of you who don’t know I do international tax and Obama and his administration have just released a TON of new legislation related to international tax so I have been quite busy to say the least. But busy is good for me, bad for you (no blogs!)
Tomorrow our friend from camp comes to stay with us, Justin. I’m so excited for him to get here! I hope we get to go to a show or something fun :-)
I remembered that Burr wanted me to confess on the blog that I yet again got lost!! It was a small mistake this time, I mean TINY. So, last week on the way home from work I was doing my normal commute. *
*Side note 1 – I realize that anyone who has a “normal” commute should never get lost, but I just can’t help it.
And I heard the train coming so I ran really fast turned left and jumped on it. The doors shut behind me and I realized….um I never actually go left – I go right (i.e. west) so I went entirely the wrong direction just because I heard a train – not “the” train. Oopsies. I think Burr thought this was funny because it happened on a Tuesday but I did not get enough courage to tell him until the following Sunday.
Words I found horribly annoying right now are “Brilliant” and “Cheers” – its used in every other sentence constantly. In the US you might tell a taxi driver where to go and get in, but here you tell the driver and the British person says “Brilliant, Cheers!” – over and over again and in conversations! I mean, when you don’t need to say anything at all this is what is coming out of their mouths. So annoying – perhaps because I’m sick and I just want everyone to be quiet….shhhhh…its bothering me.
PS –Thanks to Nicola and Melissa for coming to see us next week and be so gracious about shoving their bags full of our stuff, I just keep ordering stiff that gets sent to their home to carry to us (Such as granola bars, makeup, regular deodorant). I mean you really don’t want to hang out with stinky people, do you?!
PPS – Some anonymous person posted a comment on my blog regarding dance dance revolution and I really did not enjoy it. I mean – really an “anonymous” post - its just creepy. To anonymous poster: Leave me and my blogs alone, pick on Burr!
